US WWII PHOTO ALBUM – ENGLAND, FRANCE, GERMANY – IDENTIFIED AIRFIELDS – LW AIRCRAFT
Exceptional photo album assembled by the owner in a captured German binder. He served in an engineer construction Battalion building airfields in England and France. Well captioned throughout. Many identified locations. The actual USAAF bases they were building should be identifiable as the town/villages are mentioned. For example, the first base pictured was likely Stansted Moutfitchet – 1944 home of 344th Bomb Group which is now is the home of one of Britain’s busiest airports. Photos of BOB HOPE, V-1/2 rocket site in France, crashed Luftwaffe airplane, captured ME 110 airplanes, P-47 in camo hanger, generals, and more.
