WAFFEN-SS WEHRPASS – CONCENTRATION CAMP GUARD – V-WEAPONS MITTELWERKE

Wehrpass. He served 1939-44 with several Airforce units in Germany, (Construction units, Flak, Civil Defence). On 21-8-44 he was transferred to 4./SS-Totenkopf-Sturmbann’Mittelbau” 9 performing guard duties at the most secret underground “V”-weapon factory “Mittelwerke” near Nordhausen (Harz) and the CC”Dora”, where the slave labourers for the factory were housed, except for those, who had to stay underground at all times. Conditions were terrible, with regular deaths and executions. Documents to CC guard units are very rare, as the SS tried to destroy as much of these documents as possible near the end of the war for obvious reasons, especially documents to personnel of most secret projects such as “Mittelwerke”
