WEHRPASS – OBERLEUTNANT – 12. INFANTERIE DIVISION – KIA WARSAW 1939
Heer Wehrpass issued to Oberlt. Kurt BAATH. He served in Artillerie Regiment 48 of the 12. Inf. Division.
The regimental commander was his former commander, Colonel General von Fritsch. He fell in action against the enemy on September 22, 1939, near Fort Levinov near Praga. On the same day and at the same place, Lieutenant Rurt Baath, who was wounded in the head and shot in the chest, also fell. He was retroactively promoted to Oberleutnant for exceptional bravery. His ID photo shows him in uniform, uncommon for a Wehrpass. He participated in the Poland Campaign of 1939 and was KIA in WARSAW.
