WEHRPASS – NORMANDY 1944 – D-DAY
Heer Wehrpass issued to Unteroffizier Walter STEINORT. He served in Pionier Bat. 131 during the POLAND CAMPAIGN 1939. His last unit was a Regiment HÖRNE. Awards entered include Medaille our Volkspflege and KVK2. Wehrpass has good campaign entries for POLAND 1939, then occupation duty on the Atlantic Coast. His Campaign page also indicates that he was stationed in Northern France & Belgium (support troop duty) from March 1943 through and after D-Day. Also shows him being attached to the Fallschirm Army in Jan. 1945. Interestingly, the last entry on his campaign list is “Waffenrühe.”
