WEHRPASS – 29. INFANTERIE DIVISION “FALKE” – POLAND CAMPAIGN – CIEPIELÓW MASSACRE
Heer Wehrpass issued to Gef. Kurt MÖNIUS. He served in 10. Jaeger Kompanie/ Infanterie Regiment 15 (mot.) of the 29 Infanterie Division “Falke.” The division was later destroyed at STALINGRAD. Photo is missing. Award entered for the Black Wound Badge. He participated in the Poland Campaign of 1939 where he was wounded in combat at Izabelin, Poland. The 29th Infantry Division (Wehrmacht) was mobilized in August 1939 and participated in the Invasion of Poland as part of the German 10th Army. It was involved in the encirclement of Polish forces at Radom and committed the Ciepielów massacre, where numerous Polish prisoners of war were executed.
