Heer Wehrpass issued to Oberwachtmeister Ernst KNISPEL. He served in Artillerie Regiment 55 of the 19. Inf. Division. Awards entered include the EK2 awarded for service in Poland 1939 (nice early award!), Long Service Medal 4th Class, Sudetenland Campaign Medal and Ostmedaille. Nice uniform ID photo. Several artillery weapon qualifications. Great campaign entries for POLAND 1939, France and Russia. He was KIA on September 3, 1943 while serving with Art. Rgt. 246 which was part of the 246. Inf. Division. The division was fighting at SMOLENSK at the time he was killed.
