SOLDBUCH – 29. INFANTERIE-DIVISION “FALKE” – PANZER VERNICHTUNGS BRIGADE “MECKLENBÜRG”
Soldbuch issued to Fahnenjuncker Karl JÜNGMANN. Soldbuch was issued November 19, 1939 when he was assigned to Inf. Rgt. 15 (mot.). Has a beautiful ID photo of him as an Oberfeldwebel. He was awarded the Long Service Medal IV Class, War Merit Cross 2nd Class, 1939, Iron Cross 2nd Class, and the Wound Badge in Silver. He spent most of his service with Inf. Rgt. 15 (mot.) which was part of 29. Infanterie-Division “FALKE” which was later destroyed at STALINGRAD. He clearly survived the destruction due to being wounded in 1942, was later sent to a training unit after recovery and then transferred to PANZER VERNICHTUNGS BRIGADE “MECKLENBÜRG” at war’s end during the desperate months resulting in combing out training and replacement units as well as youth organizations and veterans for fire brigade formations. History of this unit is shadowy but appears to be associated with Panzervernichtungs-Brigade Hitlerjugend.
