VERY RARE are set of World War I German soldier caricatures printed in Belgium in 1944. The artist was Rene’ Auguste Debarre (1883-1969). The series was entitled ” YESTERDAY’S SUPERMEN; TODAY’S P.W.’S.”
Scarce collection of anti-Nazi caricatures, published in conjunction with the liberation of Belgium in 1944. Jean-Rene Debarre (1907-1968) was a Belgian artist known primarily for his sculpture and public artwork.
