Heer Wehrpass named to Cannier Wilhelm GRIMM. He served in STURMGESCHÜTZ BATTERIE 659 & 287. STURMGESCHÜTZ BATTERIE 659 was established in Jüterbog in March 1940 and was one of the first units of the assault artillery.
In 1942, this battery was made available for the formation of the Desert Special Unit 287 (Wüstensonderverbandes 287). Assault Gun Battery 287 was then assigned to the 1st Panzer Army in the Caucasus, relocated to Rhodes, and later converted into the 1st Panzer Division RHODOS. Grimm died on December 24, 1942, after being shot in the neck!
