Amazing Soldbuch issued to Unteroffizier Herbert HELBIG. Contains excellent original photo of him wearing Feldgrau Sturmgeschütz tunic. Amazing list of awards: Black Wound Badge, Sudetenland Campaign Medal, Sturmabzeichen, EK2, Ostmedaille, Bronze Driver’s Badge, Silver Driver’s Badge, KVK2 and Gold Driver’s Badge! He served in Panzerjaegerabteilung 20 of the 20. Panzer Grenadier Division. Soldbuch is an original issue – issued September 1, 1939. He spent his entire military service in the same unit. He certainly served in some sort of mobile assault gun – Marder, etc., but more research is needed.
