There is a promotion entry datedApril 1, 1945 to Obergefreiter with PANZER LEHR DIV specifically listed. His unit entry also specifically lists Panzer Lehr Division! We also find Feldpost Nummer 18599 = (6.4.1944-9.11.1944) 21.9.1944 Werkstatt-Kompanie 1062 u. Kfz-Ersatzteil-Staffel Panzer-Lehr-Division. He was already in France in the town of TOUL by Feb. 1944 according to an additional Feldpost Nummer so he was definitely in Normandy. Appears he went on leave on June 2 and returned on June 20.
