HEER SOLDBUCH & EK2 URKUNDE – STURMGESCHÜTZ ABTEILUNG 270
Soldbuch with fantastic original uniform photo in Feldgrau tunic named to Karl AMBACHER. Comes with his EK2 award document awarded July 24, 1943 with original signature division commander General der Artillerie Rolf Wuthmann (RKT). The unit was fighting in Orelbogen, Bolchow at the time of the award. Also comes with two very nice original studio portrait photos of the man, one in Feldgrau StuG tunic. Soldbuch issued Oct 20, 1942 from Inf Pz Jag Komp 25. He was admitted to hospital on Aug 1, 1943 for a shell splinter wound. His award page is missing but he obviously was awarded the EK2 and the other two awards would have been the Black Wound Badge and the Ostmedaille. The Sturmgeschütz Abteilung 270 was formed on January 3, 1943 from the Sturmgeschütz Abteilung 904 with three batteries. On June 10, 1944 it was renamed the Panzerjaeger Abt 270. On August 9, 1944 it was renamed the Danzerjäger Abteiliung 152. Likely after being wounded he was sent to Sturmgeschütz Schule as a trainer.
