Awarded on: November 4th, 1943“A regimental-sized enemy force tried to penetrate through the lines of a north-German Grenadier-Bataillon while it was in the middle of a retrograde movement south of Kritschew. In response Oberfeldwebel Friedrich Fluhs launched a counterattack on his own initiative with 20 Grenadiers and succeeded in throwing back the Soviets. He then reoccupied the old position and held it against all further Soviet attacks. This action took place on the 28.09.1943 near Studenez.”
