The Führer has awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross to General der Flieger Bogatsch, General of the Luftwaffe at the OKH, at the recommendation of the Supreme Commander of the Luftwaffe, Reichsmarschall Göring.
Already during peacetime General der Flieger Rudolf Bogatsch did a masterful job of preparing our Heer air units for their important role while serving as the General of the Luftwaffe at the OKH. In wartime he has gone on to direct the Luftwaffe formations attached to the OKH during all military operations. His tireless personal influence, foresight and energy ensured that the results of our aerial reconnaissance were made into a valuable and reliable means of guidance for our troops. At all times he also has seen to the establishment of the necessary conditions for the ground employment of those aerial and Flak formations that were attached to the OKH. General Bogatsch has made essential contributions for the successful operational leadership of the Heer, and as such he has found the highest recognition from our leadership.”
