Nice grouping to a Hauptmann Heinrich GROSSE KAPPENBERG who was a Do 17 pilot in KG2 and KG 54. On 22 August 1944 KG 54 began conversion into a fighter group, to use the Messerschmitt Me 262A. It was redesignated I./KG (J) 54 on 1 October 1944. He was with the unit at this time serving as Ia in III./KG(J) 54!! Comes with a nice selection of photos, Wehrpass and case, original flight map of Germany (foldable version used in flight), song book and three flight books. Covers hundreds of flights, Many combat missions (Feindfluge) flying Do 17 bombers over Yugoslavia and Greece - including KRETA!! great mission details listed! He flew reconnaissance missions on the days leading up to the invasion of CRETE and bombing missions during and thereafter! The missions in Russia including Smolensk. Wehrpass is complete with many entries.
