WWII Merchant Marine Ship Sunk by
German U-BOAT Grouping
Very interesting grouping to Merchant Marine Sailor who served on the USS PIPESTONE COUNTY. It was sunk by German U-Boat U-576 on April 21, 1942. Comes with the original sailor's hat the man whore on the day he was sunk with hand written comments on it, the original emergency fishing kit he "liberated" from the lifeboat. He was one of the crew members rescued by the Norwegian ship TROPIC STAR. U-576 also attempted attack on this vessel.
